Permalink Of Romance and Wastefulness

In Chinese, làngmàn (romantic) and làngfèi (wastefulness) share the same character.

Isn't that interesting?

the word 浪 itself means wave.

浪費 means wastefulness, but the 浪 here means imprudence.

浪漫 means romantic, it a loanword from english, there's no word "romantic" in ancient Chinese language.

As soon as I'm done with my Electronics class (in two weeks) I'll be getting back into Chinese again.
