Permalink Deficit went down $100 Billion last year

Lars Larson, a Republican apologist, announced on this radio show today that the budget deficit went down $100 billion last year. This, despite the Bush tax cut. He said, "Democrats can put that in their pipe and smoke it." Well, words to that effect.

The Sad Truth
If the budget deficit went down a $100 Billion last year, sounds nice and dandy, but it is a drop in the bucket. It doesn't even cover the INTEREST we had to pay for the national debt!

In 2003, the US had to pay $318 Billion for the interest on its national deficit.

We have serious debts folks, and I was brought up told you should always pay your debt.

Also, a real patriots don't give their war bills to their grandkids. President Bush needs to stop the credit card spending.

WOW! If the deficit went down $600 billion you would still find something wrong with it. If the deficit would have only went up by 52 cents you would have called for the head of every Republican that has ever existed.
But I would not expect any less from you. Keep up the good work Tony, you are a "true patriot."

If the deficit went down $600 Billion, we would most likely be talking Clintonomics, not Voodoo economics. Under Bill Clinton, with his tax hikes, had cut the national deficit in half and it was on its way to being history by 2012.

Where are the fiscal conservatives?

BTW, I thought you were dead. Your blog hasn't been updated since Feb.
