Today the world finds that the next four years will be more of the same: the Bush doctrine will continue. This means the enormous deficit will rise even bigger as we feed money into the problem of the Middle East. Funny how the conservatives always critisised the need to give money to schools or social problems, saying that throwing money to them won't solve the problem.
Bush says he will try harder to mend the divided nation, but he will have the chance to put 3, maybe 4, judges into the Supreme Court. If Bush ever wanted to illegalise abortion, this is his chance. Some moderate Republicans don't believe it. They say that the 'abortion moral high ground' is a great ace that they can always use to bring out their right-wing supporters. To make abortion illegal would only cause the majority of the public to vote them out in anger. This all remains to be seen. Bush has the popular vote now, lets see what he does with it.
Today is a new beginning, because I'm sure Hillary Clinton is now weighing her odds at becoming the first woman president in 2008.
How Bush Won
Hispanics Seems to me Bush won by successfully winning over the hispanic/latino communities. In 2000, Bush had less than 35%. Yesterday, Bush managed to get 45% - enough to get him to win a few States where the margin between him and Kerry was only 2%.
The Gay Marriage Issue Many States brought out conservatives to vote against gay marriage. While they were there, they voted for Bush at the same time. When this issue was brought to the forefront of American politics by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsome, he garnered the scorn of many democrats. They knew this could be the weapon Bush could use to win votes. And he did. Big time.
The irony, of course, is that Bush and Kerry held nearly identical views on same-sex marriage.

"There is no creator" - the Dalai Lama. These are words of common sense, and it tells me that "spirituality" has nothing in particular to do with a belief in the supernatural. But then, those of us who grew up in the seventies watching "Kung Fu" already knew that being a vegan, atheist who follows the path of the buddha can reach enlightenment.
All kidding aside, what does a vegetarian atheist have to say? Stick around and you'll find out! Politically I'm rather liberal, but I do like to listen to staunch conservative talk show host Michael (the 'Whiner') Savage so I'll probably be mentioning him from time to time in my weblogs. So for now, how about some talk of broccoli, carrots and peas? Recipe's anyone??

"As mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality."
