I'm a long time listener to the Dr. Dean Edell radio show. I recall him speculating that people who take multi-vitamin supplements might in fact be feeding the cancerous growth in their bodies, hastening death. This was 2-3 years ago, or maybe even longer than that as I think it centered around the time of Linda McCartney's death. This new study seems to offer proof of that theory.
While I'm on the subject of health and nutrition, let me say a word about excess protein. Americans eat too much of it. And they suffer from calcium deficiency more than anyone. Do you see a correlation? It is said that excess protein leaks calcium from the bone. And drinking milk to get calcium is sort of like pouring gasoline on a fire. So don't believe the dairy industry when they tell you "Milk, it does a body good". What a load of rubbish.
We weren't designed to drink cow's milk, which is 15% protein. Your mothers milk was less than 5%. If babies, during the most important growth period in a human beings life, are only meant to get 5% protein, then it is unnatural for us to eat anything more than that. But if you really want protein, try rats milk. It is close to 50%.

"There is no creator" - the Dalai Lama. These are words of common sense, and it tells me that "spirituality" has nothing in particular to do with a belief in the supernatural. But then, those of us who grew up in the seventies watching "Kung Fu" already knew that being a vegan, atheist who follows the path of the buddha can reach enlightenment.
All kidding aside, what does a vegetarian atheist have to say? Stick around and you'll find out! Politically I'm rather liberal, but I do like to listen to staunch conservative talk show host Michael (the 'Whiner') Savage so I'll probably be mentioning him from time to time in my weblogs. So for now, how about some talk of broccoli, carrots and peas? Recipe's anyone??

"As mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality."
