Permalink Kung Fu

When I was young, I had heard of 'karate' and 'judo' but I never had heard the term 'kung fu' until David Carradine's TV show crossed the Atlantic in the mid-70's. And I don't know anyone who may have heard of the term before then.

But a curious thing happened last night. I was watching 'The Avengers' on BBC America and Mrs Peel kicked in a wooden post to free herself, but before she did, she told Steed she would "try some of my kung fu". I was astounded! Wow, people back in the mid-60's knew what it was. I wonder why? Did Bruce Lee in the Green Hornet use the term? Maybe that was it.
