So the Genesis probe crashed in the desert today, but all is not bad news. NASA changed from using PC's to using Macintosh, and the result is they have now saved hundreds of hours per year.

Now, if only the Government could learn from this, and have Macs installed in the military, homeland defence and other critical places, we not only could save money, but valuable resources. Oh, and no virus or hackers could get in - a nice side effect wouldn't you say?

And in related news...
CFD tools are coming to the Mac: Pointwise Inc. and Intelligent Light made a joint announcement on Tuesday that their computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools Gridgen and Fieldview will soon become available for Mac OS X. The companies cited their NASA customers who have moved to the Mac as the impetus for porting the two applications.
